Come to the Table

Sep 4, 2018

What makes Ireland a Christian Mission field? What does it mean to be a long term missionary?  What motivates a husband and wife to pack up their family and live in another country for the rest of their lives?

I sit down with Chris & Joi Copeland to talk about being called by God to move their family and their lives to Ireland.  Four and half years later they are still preparing to make the move to Galway, Ireland, but they are more motivated now than they ever have been.   Ireland may seem like a vacation spot but a history of Protestant and Catholic violent conflicts, abuse by church clergy, high rates of alcoholism, suicide and other difficult issues have had a tremendous impact on people’s faith and impression of “the church.”  Chris and Joi are not signing up to go on a vacation but to love any and everyone they get the chance to connect with by being the hands and feet of Jesus.

A special thanks to the musical talent of our friend and guest of the show David HaLevy for writing and performing the sound to our intro and outgoing music.  Check out the Ruach Guitar Facebook Page he makes by hand and plays as well as on Instagram.   We are very humbled and grateful for this personal touch to the show and cherish it greatly.   תודה David!

Thanks to YouTuber Ryennyte for applying his editing skills to the audio and cleaning it up for us.  You can find and subscribe to his YouTube Channel here.  Proud of my son as he’s actually learning about working through this opportunity…he’s always very talented at script writing, editing audio and video software and video effects.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDGGfMs8evTpUW2NfRykgMg
